Thoughts on Music Technology #1

Well so far music technology has been pretty fun and I feel i am getting a lot more out of it this go around. I like the new program mixcraft. It's super easy to use and I like the way I can make my own music instead of just tinkering around with other peoples music while they get all the credit. I haven't done any mastering of tracks yet with mixcraft but I hope as user friendly as all it's other features. I don't enjoy the limited access to the program as there is only one computer with it on it and there are two students. I like the new mics we have now and I understand more about how things work. I like working with my classmates even though they are late on occasions. I still feel like I'm not one hundred percent with the mixing board but I think I'll inevitably get the hang of it as time goes on. I definitely know how to use the zoom, but I sometimes forget the little things on occasion. I like setting up the stage but only if I'm running sound. This being because I like to know exactly where I put which mic and who has each mic. If I have someone else setting up the mics or if I'm only setting up mics and not running sound things can get confusing. I think that's all i have to say about Music technology so far. Overall I think it's a fun, easy, interesting class to take and I am enjoying it.

My Least Favorite Things

I can't really think of any music I don't like anymore. I mostly just don't like certain songs. There are songs I hate and songs I just don't like. For instance, I don't like the song, "Paparazzi" by Lady Gaga. It's not that I hate it and refuse to listen to it at all, I would just rather listen to other things like a City and Color song or a Limp Bizkit tune. I couldn't assume for you what I don't like and what I do like. I would just have to listen to it then I could tell you. I can't just say, "OK, I don't like this, this, this and that." I would have to listen to it first or again if i've heard it previously before I say anything against it. I say this because i'm a teenager and, as all teenagers do, I change every second of everyday. This factor changes how I feel about diffrent songs over time. I don't really use these songs in my everyday life much unless it pops on the radio on day and I realize I actually might kinda like it. If that happens then however that song makes me feel will usually help me to deal or possibly prevent that emotion from taking full control of me. There are a few artists who I don't enjoy as far as the people they are and the way they abuse the position they are in. Artists like Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and artists that just seem like terrible people and for that I don't like them. It's not that I don't like their music because some of their music isn't horrible, but I feel they are and that's why I don't like them.
